What is Stewardship?
Stewardship is everything we do
after we say, "We believe…." It is
our living relationship with God.
It is our response to God's unconditional
love and to the gifts of
salvation through Jesus Christ and grace through the Holy Spirit.
Stewardship is not about money.
It is about how we use everything
that God has given us. It is about
how we live and how we give.
What do we give to God in response
for all that has been given
to us? We give time, talent, and
treasure to fulfill our missions as members of the living Body of
Christ in the world.
St. Paul’s 2010 Stewardship Program
Mk 10:45 “For the Son of Man came not to be
served but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.”
This was part of the answer the apostles James and John got when they wanted to
know how to punch their ticket to heaven with a first class seat. The answer was a
tough one to accept (and still is) and we are told time and time again that eternal life is
attained through service and sacrifice in the name of Our Lord.
This month we are going to explore what that can mean for how you live your life in
your family, in the Church, in our community and in the world. We are also planning
on deepening our faith, having fun and building community and new relationships
as part of the month-long program.
Each Sunday in October we are focusing ondifferent topics related to life-giving. The
service schedule will be as normal at 8:30 and 10am. We will also be having a fellowship
meeting between the services from 9:15-10 am where coffee and snacks will be
served and we can meet with our invited guests and share information.
We hope that everyone will participate fully in these special programs and use the
time to pray and reflect on how our lives are lived out in the Kingdom of God.
