This coming Sunday, Epiphany V, February 4, we will focus on the theme “Carrying your LIGHT as missionaries.”
This week’s worship theme will feature a presentation by our Music team and preaching which will set the stage for our Annual Meeting. We will hear Jesus inviting his newly called disciples into the mission field:
Jesus answered, “Let us go on to the neighboring towns, so that I may proclaim the message there also; for that is what I came out to do.” And he went throughout Galilee, proclaiming the message in their synagogues and casting out demons. Mark 1: 38-39
Hearing the challenges of our budget, our programs, our staff support and our vision for 2024 during the Annual Meeting is all focused on equipping each of us to spread the light of Christ to a world shrouded in darkness begging for the good news of God’s salvation. We have heard Jesus calling us along with his disciples to “drop our nets” and now he is asking that we share with him in the proclamation of the gospel throughout the places where we go and beyond.
Let this season of Epiphany be one of renewal and empowering of this wonderful congregation of St. Paul’s as we launch fully into the new year and this time of Sabbatical and Bridge Priest.
Epiphany blessings to you and your family,
Rev. Bob Davidson, Bridge Priest
