Lent is just around the corner! Although many of our traditions have been disrupted in the last year, we have been working hard to preserve, and in some cases re-invent, as many as we can. To that end, we invite you to receive ashes next Tuesday, February 16, in preparation for the start of Lent. Whether you're someone who receives ashes every year, or perhaps it's your very first time, all are welcome!
According to guidance from our Diocese, the imposition of ashes by priests is not allowed this year, due to COVID precautions which we are obliged to follow. However, ashes may be distributed to parishioners who may impose on themselves during either of our two services on Ash Wednesday. Zoom information for both the noon and 7:30pm services will be coming soon.
Carefully prepared according to all COVID-safety protocols, individual packets of blessed ashes will be available for you to receive in one of two ways:
1) Stop by the church on Tuesday, February 16th between 3pm and 5pm. Fr. Rob will be there to greet you from a safe distance and give you a blessing, and you can pick up your ashes (which you will save for the service the following day).
or
2) If needed, you may request contactless delivery of the ashes to your home on Tuesday between 10am and 1pm.
In order for our volunteers to know how many participants to prepare for, we kindly ask you to sign up at this link. If you are requesting delivery, please be sure to provide your address in the comment box.
