Outreach Team Invites Support of Two Lenten Service Projects

During Lent, the St. Paul's Outreach Committee is happy to announce two new ways for parishioners to help neighbors in need.

Personal Hygiene Products for Citizen's Inn

The first offering is a collection of personal hygiene products for Peabody’s Citizen’s Inn. This effort is in conjunction with the Bethlehem School’s PTO. From the Citizen's Inn website:

For 38 years, Citizens Inn, Inc., now merged with Haven from Hunger, has worked toward ending homelessness and hunger across the North Shore. Our mission calls us to support everyone with dignity and respect, as they live in our emergency shelter, Citizens Inn Between; our sober living transitional housing shelter, Citizens Inn Transition; our affordable housing units, Citizens Inn Homes; or join us for meals as part of our Citizens Inn Haven from Hunger program. Through our work, we not only provide a safe place to stay and a meal on the table, but offer tools to empower families and individuals to find permanent solutions to break the patterns of instability in their lives.

Please bring all personal hygiene products to the collection box at the back entrance of the Bethlehem School, or drop them off at Jonna Casey’s home at 27 Edward Avenue in Lynnfield.

McDonald's Gift Cards for Common Cathedral

The Outreach Committee's second project is collecting $10 McDonald's gift cards to be distributed through Common Cathedral. From the Common Cathedral website:

Common Cathedral serves as an important community for people experiencing homelessness, and for faith communities who want to be in supportive relationship with un-housed individuals and their friends. Common Cathedral welcomes everyone to participate in our worship and extended hospitality. Youth and adults join together for worship on Boston Common and are also welcome to participate in additional programs.

The $10 gift cards will provide breakfast, lunch, or hot coffee to those in need. Please help by mailing gift cards to St. Paul's (127 Summer St., Lynnfield, MA 01940), or dropping them off at the home of Jonna Casey, 27 Edwards Ave. in Lynnfield.
