St. Paul's tradition of selecting and buying needed presents from the Christmas Giving Wreath will be different in this unprecedented year of 2020. But Christmas will still arrive and families will still need help. For the past 25 years, St. Paul’s has supported children and families in need from Roxbury, Dorchester, and South Boston. We estimate that over 2,000 children have been served.
This year, the need is even greater. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many Boston families cannot make ends meet. Although it is also difficult for our own families, the Outreach Committee is asking for your support. If you would like to help, please purchase Target, Walmart, or Stop and Shop gift cards in any denomination and either mail them to St. Paul’s (127 Summer St., Lynnfield, MA 01940), to Jonna Casey (27 Edward Ave., Lynnfield, MA 01940), or put them in Jonna’s mail box before December 11th. Chuck Gilliam, Vice Principal of the Murphy School, will distribute the cards to families by Christmas.
We know that gift cards will be used for food, warm clothing, or a small toy for the neediest families, while keeping our own families socially distant and safe. Merry Christmas to everyone, and thank you.
